Duart Castle, Isle of Mull – June 20th to June 25th 2017

The Clan are to gather again next year (2017) over on Mull, a 45 minute sail from where I was born (Connel) and it should be another great time for all Maclean’s. Liz and I have attended the last 4 gatherings and have been hard at work with guests staying with us on tour, we already have 40 or so guests booked in for tours, ranging from driver guided tours, to self drive and yes, our famous Maclean Gathering coach tour!  Accommodation on Mull will be hard to find if you leave it too late – but, fear not, WE HAVE rooms held for our guests once again.

We are offering driver/guided tours  – relax whist we take the strain out of driving on the ‘wrong side of the road’.  A totally bespoke tour to suit your family.

Self drive tours – give you the freedom to tour Scotland at a pace to suit you.  We arrange all your accommodation and book your car, ferries etc.

The Mcleanscotland coach tour, join this fun and friendly tour – a great way to Visit Scotland.  Some guests are adding on to the tour, just ask for suggestions.

We also have two places left on our luxury tour, staying in Glengorm Castle.

The Clan Maclean Association is again organising the International Gathering, from Tuesday 20th to Sunday 25th June 2017. The Reception Centre at the Aros Hall, Tobermory will be open Tues, Wed, Thurs, Friday. 9.30 am to 5.30 pm . Check in there collect your “Gathering Welcome Pack” (one for each family or group).

Dress for the Gathering Week. This is largely a matter of choice but the weather on Mull is very variable. Maybe wear something tartan whenever you can such as tie, hat, scarf or kilt, certainly for the saturday. Dress for the Ceilidh/concert is casual. The Dance is the occasion to wear all the best you have brought with you and the Gathering is a tartan occasion.

2017 will be the 125th Anniversary Gathering of Clan Maclean, since the reformation of the Clan in 1892, which was the 1st Gathering of the Clan after the Battle of Culloden. The 2012 Gathering welcomed over 1000 Clansfolk to Duart and Mull. See a wee video;   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x8uMwwJxGhE

“Paul and Liz are the very best at what they do! They planned an amazing trip for us way back in 2007. We sent two winners  from McLean’s Pub in Montreal to represent us at the Clan MacLean Gathering on the Isle of Mull! The next gathering we hope to do the same!”
