
From the Himalays to Edinburgh, what a golf trip this will be!
Day 1 Arrive into Edinburgh, we meet you and drive to St Andrews, drop luggage at accommodation and use remainder of the day to relax after your flight. Have you heard of the Himalayas course? Equipment hire is included in the green fee of £3 per adult. The Himalayas lie between the famous Old Course and the spectacular West Sands, only a ten minute walk from the town centre. Great fun! The Fairmont Hotel has 520 acres of estate on cliffs overlooking St Andrews bay. A complimentary shuttle service to and from the hotel to St Andrews town centre runs every hour from 09:00-18:00.
Day 2 A day to get to grips with the Scottish weather! We will have entered you in the Old Course ballot. If you got through the ballot, great, if not, try one of the other courses, the Castle Course maybe? Some very local sightseeing, pubs, eateries, ruined castle and cathedral, harbour, or just lay on the beach sunbathing! Overnight St Andrews.
Day 3 Head north today – approx 4 hours to Dornoch. Stopping along the way, a Glenmorangie Distillery, a visit or just a tasting. Time for at a nice pub lunch then on to Dornoch (not a large place) and drop off gear at our favourite pub where you are staying. Our pal up there can get you all onto the golf course, it’s invite or with a member only, the Royal Dornoch Hotel. There is a great whisky shop there too, pals of ours where we can arrange a tasting. Overnight Dornoch.
Day 4 A day trip, only 30 minutes to Brora, where you will play, also a distillery if you wish. Return to Dornoch overnight, good pub food, drinks and atmosphere.
Day 5 Moving south again, driving into Perthshire, with so many courses to choose from and a location for golf and or whisky/sightseeing. Tthere are 16 more within an hour from the Victorian town of Pitlochry, staying overnight here. You will play Crieff course. Driving south you pass various castles and wee villages, plenty of chance to stop and eat. You will tour and taste at Edradour Distillery.
Day 6 Golf! Blairgowrie is really good, so a course here. Good times, fun, food and drink, meet the locals, enjoy the day, overnight Pitlochry again.
Day 7 Down to Edinburgh our capital only an hour and a half from Pitlochry. Depending on your requirements, either play golf today – see below – or chill. Overnight Edinburgh.
Day 8 Edinburgh- there are 12 golf courses east of Edinburgh, one of which is including Muirfield and Gullane are the options.
Day 9 depart from Edinburgh for home. If flight from Glasgow, we can swap your final night stay to a Glasgow airport location.
