Day 1 Arrive into Glasgow, take the train on a scenic route to Oban where you stay the night.  This, the “seafood capital of Scotland” makes a perfect start to you tour. We’ll book seats on the train and recommend where to eat this evening.  Enjoy your first night overlooking the water.

Day 2  we meet you (or you can self drive) south towards Kilmartin, if you wish this to be a longer day, divert to Seil Island. Fantastic option according to Paul. Stop in Kilmartin village to view the Kirk (church) and ancient standing stones, crosses and burial cairns, so many to choose from, you could be there a while. There is a pub in the village for lunch. Then continue along to the Crinan Canal. Drive this short but scenic road to its end at Crinan. Food and drinks available here with great views and walks. This really is a superb route and to end the day you check into a castle where you stay this evening.

Day 3 A day of castles, first we head to Skipness Castle, then on to Bruce Castle (Tarbert) then take the ferry over the loch to Portavadie, and Taighnabruich is a short drive away. You may wish (as Paul normally does) take some time inTarbert. Of course, overnight in the quaint wee village of Taighnabruich.

Day 4 more scenic driving, more open mouths, take it easy and enjoy the surroundings – we do! Drive north to Ormidale, then through  Auchinbreck, Ardtaraig and Clachaig, coming to Holy Loch. At Dunoon, take lunch and admire the views. After lunch take the ferry to Gourock and the road to Glasgow. Your wee tour ends here with a superb hotel we know of, including free drinks all night!

OR take this tour in reverse. This can be a tour on its’ own, or part of a longer west coast tour, ask us to design YOUR tour, we are easy to work with. paul@mcleanscotland.com
